Attack and Support Helicopters – The Rotary Renaissance

Our rotary division is run by the eminent Paul Mason.

Vital Support to Troops in Contact
Wars are ultimately won by troops on the ground. Only troops take, control and occupy territory. Helicopters are a vital enabler for these troops. Support helicopters, such as Chinook, allow commanders to generate rapid mobility, surprise and an overwhelming tempo of operations that targets the enemy’s decision making cycle. They are routinely used for special forces operations and casualty evacuation as well as resupply and reinforcement. Attack helicopters, on the other hand, offer commanders a powerful organic killing capability against enemy air assets, armour, artillery and troop carrying vehicles as well as enemy command and control.   Attack helicopters employed correctly are a divisive tool on the battle field and contribute significantly to Joint Fires and ISTAR in a network enabled world.

Translatable skills
Military rotary wing expertise is also highly relevant to civilian operations. Coastguards, police, air ambulances and the oil/gas industry all draw on military helicopter experience and sensor employment knowledge.

Credible Military Experience
Inzpire employs only extremely experienced helicopter instructors, pilots and crew. Our team have backgrounds in both the British Army and RAF. They have experience of many different helicopter types including Apache Longbow (AH MK 1), Lynx (MK 7, TOW, 9 utility & Airdoor gunnery), Merlin, Gazelle (surveillance and Recce), Sea King, Chinook and Puma. They are also highly experienced in many rotary wing roles including Special Forces operations, fire support to the land Close Battle (Fire Support Teams and Close Combat Attacks), and Combat Search and Rescue (JPR/CSAR). Significantly, they have experience of helicopter operations and training with the USA, Australia and South Africa on helicopters such as Apache, Eurotiger and Rooivalk.
