Maritime Air

The Military Context
Any Nation State with a desire to secure its declared extended economic zone and/or execute deployed operational objectives requires the capability to protect its surface forces from attack.  Whilst it may not be fashionable to view submarines as a strategic threat, the reality is that, worldwide, submarine capability is proliferating.  Moreover it is doing so in regions where the NATO Allies do not have traditionally strong alliances and where strategic tensions continue to generate instability.  The threat from surface forces is more easily quantified, but no less energetic in its unbounded proliferation through the asymmetrical acts of rogue state and non-state actors.  Surface and Sub-surface warfare is not simply about the means to sink hostile surface and submarine assets.  It encompasses over the horizon search, detection, identification, tracking and attacking capabilities.  In terms of effect, deterrence or denial (i.e. preventing the hostile unit from posing a threat to maritime units) is the essence of Military Maritime Aviation-encompassing fixed-wing, rotary and unmanned air vehicles.

The Civilian Role
For a Nation State to prosper it must be able to effectively police its territorial waters, extended economic zone and adjacent high seas that it relies on for secure routes of surface communication to access global markets.  A State’s operations to counter piracy, terrorism, illegal migration, drug trafficking alongside executing fisheries protection, customs and excise monitoring, (and search and rescue commitments) within such zones, demands an effective maritime aviation capability. We can provide invaluable advice in these areas.

Our Expertise
At Inzpire we have the expertise and experience to contribute to all aspects of the effective employment of fixed-wing, rotary and unmanned maritime-centric air assets in the civilian and military environments.  We recognise the strategic importance of meeting threats whilst they are still over the horizon.  From experience, born of dealing with every aspect of military and civilian maritime air operations, we can contribute to successful holistic policy making, operational planning and first hand delivery of maritime focused air operations. This support can range from simulation of threats, contingency and resilience planning in the training and operational environments, through to safe, yet effective, employment of Maritime Air assets to meet both the military and civilian imperatives.
