Burt Reynolds – Principal Consultant Synthetic
Training
Burt joined the Army 1982; he qualified as a Lynx Air Gunner (navigator and
weapon systems operator) in 1991 and spent his first tour in Germany and
Northern Ireland. After four successful years Burt then qualified as Pilot
in 1995, converting straight back onto the Lynx and qualifying as a Helicopter
Weapons Instructor. For 5 years he worked in Germany running TOW and GPMG
ranges and carried out multiple tours of duty in the Balkans and a tour in
Belize. On return to UK he became the Squadron Helicopter Weapons Instructor
of 656 Squadron, planning and running the only Squadron level, multi-aircraft,
firing on the move, TOW night exercise of its kind, utilising Fast Air for
FAC and Guns to allow for JAAT missions at night.
In 2002 he was selected from within the Army Air Corps to become an Apache Field Deployable Simulator Instructor (FDSI), the task was to write, develop and instruct the initial Conversion to Role (CTR) packages prior to the Apache force being deployed on Operations for the first time, with continual updates to the courses due to tactics changing from Operations carried out. Burt was involved in the training of the FDSI’s at Wattisham and instructed on the Apache Weapons Instructor courses.
During this time Burt qualified as an Electronic Warfare Instructor (EWI) and carried out the RAF Combined Qualified Weapons Instructor (CQWI) course. Burt has over 2000 rotary flying hours and has taken part in many combined exercises such as TLT NITEX and JMC.
He qualified as Crew Resource Management Instructor (CRMI) prior to joining Inzpire. He is a qualified Further Education (FE) teacher, has a Honours Degree in Information Technology and Computing and is a PRINCE2 Practitioner Project Manager.
