Ian Ansell MBE

Ian Ansell studied to be a marine radio and radar engineer after leaving
school. He joined the RAF as a radar technician where he worked for 9 years. After
leaving the Service, Ian became a radar engineer on the Foxhunter radar at GEC. Following
various takeovers by BAE Systems and then SELEX, Ian finally left as a capability
manager in 2005, after 20 successful years in which he worked extensively with
front-line fast jet aircrew. For his work with the military, Ian gained
much recognition which culminated in the receipt of 2 bronze and 1 gold Chairman’s
Awards for innovation. In 2001 Ian was also awarded an MBE for his services
to the defence industry.
