On Tuesday 20 January, Inzpire’s Civilian Qualified Helicopter Instructors from Army Air Corps Middle Wallop carried out their staff continuation training and re-familiarisation of the mountain flying area ahead of the mountain flying element of the Apache Conversion to Type course. The exercise took place over Snowdonia, not far from the world famous Mach Loop.
Every student on the Apache Conversion to Type course at AAC Middle Wallop – which is run by Inzpire – undertakes stringent mountain flying practice guided by our instructors. The aim of this training is to enhance students understanding of conducting missions in mountainous terrains, as well as highlighting the extra considerations that need to be made when exposed to unpredictable weather conditions whilst employing a number of sights and sensors.
Thus, it is essential that our Instructors have full situational awareness of the terrain in which they will be conducting this training. The staff continuation training and re-familiarisation exercise allows the Instructors to gain this situational awareness ahead of delivering the training.
