Previously I have done some cycling for charity but have never taken on a long run, which for me really will be a mental challenge as much as a physical one.
My Mother is currently undergoing treatment for Cancer at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Cambridgeshire. The Macmillan charity is an amazing supporter of people like Mum and her fellow sufferers throughout the nation and is supporting the building of a new treatment centre at Hinchingbrooke. My Mother has been, and continues to be, an inspiration as she gets on with beating the disease without a fuss, so it seems the least I can do to take on something that I really do not enjoy and to really push myself for my Mother and Macmillan.
