Inzpire Pick Up Awards for Mission Systems Products

Mission Systems Group Recognised at Lincolnshire Digital and Tech Awards

Inzpire’s Mission Systems Group picked up two awards at the Lincolnshire Digital and Tech Awards held at the Lincolnshire Showground on Thursday 18 May.

The awards celebrate the innovative applications of digital and technology across the county, with companies from a wide range of sectors being selected as finalists.

The ‘Product of the Year’ award was given to Inzpire’s Mission Support System (MSS), which enables helicopter crews to plan, rehearse, brief, fly and debrief complex missions far more safely and effectively than was previously possible. Before the introduction of MSS, many mission planning tasks were undertaken using paper-based systems which resulted in a relatively slow, error-prone process. However, RAF Puma crews now operate a ‘paperless’ cockpit using MSS. All information that was previously carried on numerous paper maps, books and other documents is now available on tablet PC devices which enable the right information to be accessed more rapidly; often in demanding, time-critical situations.

The International success of Inzpire’s GECO products was also recognised through the ‘Global Ambition’ Award, in which judges assessed how we have exported products, the impact exporting has had on the company as a whole, and the efficiency with which we have overcome issues that may arise out of having clients based across the World. Inzpire have provided a number of GECO products to Royal Jordanian Air Force helicopters and fast jets since 2013, and it was the success of this very important business relationship which played a large part in the awarding of the ‘Global Ambitions’ accolade.

Jonny Smith, Head of Inzpire’s Mission Systems Group, said: “We were delighted to win both the Product of the Year and Global Ambition awards at last night’s Lincolnshire Digital and Tech Awards. This success is recognition for the huge dedication of Inzpire’s Mission Systems team in developing and delivering the world-leading GECO Mission Support System for our UK and overseas customers. Inzpire is proud to support Lincolnshire’s rapidly growing digital and technology sector and we relish the opportunity to work with the many outstanding companies who were present at last night’s ceremony to further develop Lincolnshire’s tech capability”.
