After University, Andy went on to qualify as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA). In the 23 years since qualifying, Andy has held senior finance roles and Board positions in a variety of companies ranging from SME’s to FTSE 100’s and FTSE 250’s.
In the last 11 years, Andy has worked for large defence companies, such as BAE Systems and Babcock Group. At BAE, he was the finance lead in teams which successfully secured strategic bids with (UK) MoD, including the 25 year framework contract which led to the building of the two ‘QEC’ aircraft carriers. In his operational roles at BAE, Andy led the finance team involved in the support and deep maintenance of Royal Navy warships based at Portsmouth. During that time, Andy was also heavily involved in securing the 5-year Maritime Support Development Framework (‘MSDF’) contract for BAE.
At Babcock, Andy joined the land sector as finance director for DSG, a key 10 year contract with (UK) MoD supporting and maintaining the Army’s fleet of vehicles, ranging from Challenger 2 main battle tanks to quad bikes. His role involved the transformation of DSG from a public sector organisation into a commercial one, with all of the challenges that presented.
Andy brings his experience of both smaller companies and large corporates to Inzpire and, having worked in support of the Royal Navy and the Army, he is now looking forward to supporting the RAF.
Andy has recently moved from Wiltshire to Lincolnshire and in his spare time, he likes travelling, playing golf, painting and occasionally, gliding.
