We highly value our relationship with UK MOD and recognise the importance of the people element in the security and prosperity of our country.
One area that we are particularly proud of is our support to adventurous training and challenging team and individual sporting efforts. Over the last year we have been able to provide support to 2 significant Trans-Atlantic Challenges, plus team and individual and extreme sports events.
Since September 2015 The Royal Artillery have been conducting a major Trans-Atlantic Sailing expedition EXERCISE ATLANTIC UBIQUE. The event marks the 300th anniversary of the forming of the Royal Regiment of Artillery. The Expedition on St Barbara V (42 foot yacht) will see a total of 150 largely novice crew of sailors, drawn from all ranks of the Regular and Army Reserves. The crews will conduct the various legs of the event including two trans-Atlantic crossings and passage though the Canary Islands, Caribbean, and the Eastern seaboard of USA. In the tradition of great adventure, individuals have endured significant challenges of weather, difficult living conditions and sea sickness that ocean sailing provides. All that have taken part so far have grown in personal experience, teamwork, leadership and statue; all the reasons for the conducting adventurous training.
Even more inspiring has been the effort of the Atlantic Drifters team (Tom Brunwin and David Lambert) from the Army Air Corps, who successfully rowed the Atlantic as part of the TALISKER WHISKY ATLANTIC CHALLENGE. The team set off on 15 December 2015 and after battling against the high seas, blisters, sores and their mental health, they successfully crossed the Atlantic in 43 days, 16 hours and 18 minutes. Finishing on 2nd February 2016, they won the Pure Pair class of the event. This is a massive achievement and demonstrates the outstanding qualities of the pair.
Closer to home but equally as wet and cold we have been proud to support the RAF Winter Sports for a second year, helping to provide individuals and teams with the opportunity to develop skill and experiences in a memorable and challenging environment.
Inzpire supports our own and this year Joint Inzpire and MOD teams will conduct a number of challenges including the “Three Peaks race” and “The Wall" (Running of Hadrian’s Wall) in July 2016.
All the above demonstrate Inzpire’s understanding of the importance of developing people, through challenging adventurous training and we are very proud to be able to provide support to our Regular and Reserve Forces on these worthy and valuable endeavours.
