Inzpire Limited is delighted to announce that, following selection to provide the GECO Mission Support System (MSS) to the UK Joint Helicopter Command’s Puma Force, the project’s Initial Operating Capability has now been declared. This is a defining milestone for Inzpire’s Mission Systems Group that has grown exponentially in recent years as the military seeks innovative, operator-focussed capabilities that genuinely improve effectiveness across the whole mission cycle.
The GECO System began life as a cockpit tablet solution for helicopters, fighters and transport aircraft to meet platform capability shortfalls as well as electronic flight bag requirements. The power of the GECO modular ‘app’ based architecture and geo-visual environment soon became evident, leading to expansion of the product range to provide an end-to-end mission planning, rehearsal, execution and debrief capability. This important contract delivery cements the accomplishment of that expansion.
We firmly believe that Inzpire’s GECO MSS provides the most intuitive and highly capable MSS currently available on the military market. Designed by operationally experienced Inzpire personnel, it delivers exacting functionality that meets current and emerging mission requirements. GECO MSS is designed around a flexible, open architecture that enables it to be easily configured for any rotary or fixed wing platform and can provide coherence through interoperability with existing mission support systems. GECO MSS offers a collaborative working environment designed to meet the most exacting military client functionality and security, requirements.
The GECO system transcends the military joint domain and is available to meet the requirements of Air and Land Users and will soon cover the Maritime User through the implementation of domain and role-specific ‘apps’ and connectivity.
Jonny Smith, Head of Inzpire’s Mission Systems Group said: “securing the Puma MSS contract, in a whole of market competition which featured some major players in the field, represents a strategic step change for Inzpire and demonstrates that our self-funded R&D initiatives have hit the target. The declaration of Puma MSS Initial Operating Capability is testament to the outstanding efforts of Inzpire’s Mission Systems Team and those of the wider Company. I believe that this project signals that the Defence market is wide open for companies with our innovative, value for money approach and we hope to be adding numerous other platforms to our GECO MSS portfolio soon. I am confident that our GECO System will provide the benchmark against which all mission support systems will be measured.”
Minister of State for Defence Procurement Philip Dunne said:
“It is very encouraging to see SME’s contributing so much to the UK’s Defence industry – there is no doubt that harnessing their innovation as part of the Defence supply chain is a key to the Armed Forces remaining at the forefront of technology.”
