Inzpire Limited has been awarded with a contract re-let after a period of competition, which will see the company continue to deliver Civilian Qualified Helicopter Instructor (CQHI) support to 652 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton.
CQHIs from the company’s Helicopter Services Division have been working hand-in-hand with 652 Sqn since 2016. The contract re-let will ensure that that support continues until 2025, with the option to extend past that point.
Working directly alongside RNAS personnel, Inzpire’s CQHIs deliver live flying training to military students on both Conversion to Type and Conversion to Role courses, teaching a range of critical skills including basic and advanced aircraft handling, mission management, crew resource management and night flying operations.
Inzpire’s expert tuition also covers ground instruction, with the company’s CQHIs – all of whom completed extensive military flying careers – delivering academic classroom-based lessons supporting live flying skills.

However, Inzpire’s support to 652 Squadron goes far beyond training delivery, with the company’s CQHIs supporting everyday squadron life by performing flight testing of aircraft and completing duty instructor roles in support of routine day and night flying.
Craig Brown, Head of Helicopter Services Division at Inzpire said: “Inzpire’s Helicopter Services Division is extremely proud to announce that we will be continuing our provision of high calibre instructional support to 652 Sqn at RNAS Yeovilton.
“We have been providing this service since 2016, and we are delighted that Inzpire’s vastly experienced CQHIs will continue to support the training of Wildcat helicopter students looking to become the next generation of front line pilots.”
Maj Calvin J White CFS, Officer Commanding 652 Operational Conversion Sqn at RNAS Yeovilton said: “The renewal of the Inzpire CQHI contract will provide us with excellent continuity.
“The combination of civilian and army instructor experience enables us to maintain our training output and ensures our aircrew are ready for frontline service with the Wildcat helicopter.”
