Electronic Warfare (EW) experts from Inzpire’s Technical and Strategic Services Operational Business Unit have concluded the delivery of a bespoke EW course to 12 students from 14 Signal Regiment.
The participants, who ranged from Lance Corporal to Yeoman of Signals, had all previously undergone a course of general electromagnetic signals training at Blandford Forum followed by a period of EW training with the British Army Intelligence Corps at Chicksands.
This latest course - which was designed and delivered entirely by Inzpire’s experts - aimed to build on the participants’ existing knowledge. This will give the Brigade and Division a cutting-edge Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) capability.
Over the course of a week, students were taught advanced theory, and its operational application in areas including Radio Frequency (RF) signal parameters, antennas, transmitters and receivers, radar system design and ELINT processing.
Rich Dalby, Inzpire electronic intelligence (ELINT) SME said: “All 14 Signal Regiment personnel attending this course were eager to build upon their already considerable technical and tactical ELINT knowledge.
“Their work ethic and thirst for knowledge were second to none and will secure them a place not only as a highly valued asset to the British Army on operations, but also sets them as a bench-mark for others to aspire to.”
The contract was secured as part of a competitive tender process through the Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) programme being delivered by The Aurora Engineering Partnership. The EDP programme is the established default route for contracted engineering services for DE&S and is available for use by the wider MOD community. It is a collaborative, progressive and agile programme that accesses the right skills, expertise and resources to ensure the UK’s Armed Forces and Front-Line Commands receive the best equipment and support. EDP is delivered by the Aurora Engineering Partnership, formed by QinetiQ, Atkins and BMT.
Inzpire’s Technical and Strategic Services Operational Business Unit is embedded within UK service commands, delivery teams and MoD headquarters. They provide continuity, experience and technical knowledge to support military output. Their expertise includes equipment capability development and assessment; integrated test, evaluation and acceptance plans; mission data; electronic warfare; and concept development.
Inzpire’s Training Academy delivers training and education across a range of subject areas: air and space operations; air-land integration; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance sensors; unmanned air operations; tactical helicopter training; advanced technology and analysis training; cyber operations; electronic warfare; intelligence and analysis; and human factors and performance.
The Training Academy offers flexibility to suit the needs of the customer. Training can be delivered at either Inzpire’s headquarters in Lincoln or at a location to suit those studying, with many courses also available online through Inzpire’s own virtual learning environment.
