The annual Inzpire Golf Championship took place on Friday 22 July at Lincoln Golf Club, Torksey.
The event attracted a wide-ranging entry list from across the company, as well as guest players from the Royal Air Force, Boeing and Plexsys, totalling 28 competitors in all. This year Inzpire were in conjunction with Lincoln Golf Club and their Captain’s charity; raising £219 for the mental health charity, MIND.
All players arrived at the club to register and enjoy tea and coffee, alongside delicious bacon baps before hitting the practice ground to warm up for the main event. With many prizes to be won on the day, some serious practice sessions were soon underway.
The first meaningful shot was struck by last year’s champion, Robert Hough at 1146, with the final group setting off at 1258; strange how so much practice can produce such little reward! Once underway, the many spot prizes were keenly contested, with categories including; nearest the pin, nearest in 3 shots, a longest drive, most accurate drive, beat the Pro and of course a hotly contested most golf!
Best dressed golfer (aka most overtly loud dressed golfer!) was judged by our merry band of support staff (Kelly, Beth, Ellie and Emma) during the registration and practice periods.
A long and arduous (for some) day of golf saw the many prizes split across the field. The early clubhouse lead was held by Florence Bauer of Mission Systems with an excellent 42 points, although before long this was trumped by Chris Enock of Collective Training, amassing an equally excellent 45 points. With the last group yet to finish, Chris was sitting pretty, but not quite over the line, as Andy Purvey, Collective Training, handed in his card with an amazing winning score of 47 points. Congratulations Andy!
