The event held each year in the splendid surroundings of the central-London Northumberland Street Ballroom.
The event is SSAFA’s flag-ship annual fundraising event, raising over £100 000 for the charity’s work in support of UK Servicemen and women, veterans, and Service families. The wonderful black-tie posh-frock event is attended by over 400 guests and is traditionally hosted by the Chief of the Defence Staff; this year Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach GBE KCB ADC DL obliged. Air Chief Marshal Peach delivered the evening’s key-note speech emphasising and praising the outstanding work of SSAFA, setting out the gravitas and importance of the event, and thanking all sponsors for their support. The SSAFA Defence Industry Charitable Dinner gives Inzpire, and all sponsoring participants, the opportunity to support this prestigious charity, as well as join will other industry partners is a high-spirited evening of annual celebration, relaxation and interaction.
Inzpire took six seats at the event, inviting three valued friends from across defence. Gp Capt Jules Ball, currently at Air Command, remains a great friend of the Company, having flown the Tornado F3 earlier in his career with many of the Inzpire team. Wing Commander Toby Sawbridge joined from RAF Benson where he is currently Officer Commanding 230 Squadron. Toby’s Squadron of Puma helicopters is one of the most important users of Inzpire’s GECO Mission Support System and his team is currently employs the GECO System at home in the UK and overseas on both training and operational missions.

Kim Hancock joined from the MoD’s Foreign Liaison Section where her team has direct responsibility for looking after all foreign defence staff in London. The dinner was a great opportunity to thank these individuals for their help and support in the recent past, and discuss a range of up-coming activity.

At the forefront of this event is the outstanding support and hard-cash it provides to SSAFA, the most prominent tri-Service charity, which provides lifelong support to serving men and women, and veterans, from the British Armed Forces, and their families or dependents. Inzpire is already signed-up to support next year’s dinner, this time participating will a full table of twelve, providing a fabulous opportunity for more folk in the Company to experience this prestigious event, for the Company to invite a greater number of guests, and most importantly for the Company to recognise and support the outstanding work of SSAFA.
