We’re delighted to announce that our Technical & Strategic Services (TSS) division is now 100-strong, with Director, Mark ‘Nuts’ McNulty, at the helm.
Here’s what he had to say about the impressive milestone…
“I joined Inzpire in late 2018 and became the 26th member of what was then called the ‘Integrated Sensors & Systems Division’, the pre-cursor name to TSS, as Head of Operational Support. With the formation of operational business units (OBUs), I then became the Head of Division for Information & Data Services until September 2023, when I was then selected to take over as Director of TSS.
“‘What do I enjoy most about working for Inzpire and TSS?’ is a very easy question to answer – the people. Every member of the team is a true professional, great to work with and holds the Inzpire values. Without them, TSS wouldn’t exist; we wouldn’t surpass customer expectations, and we wouldn’t be able to grow. Reaching 100 people is a true testament to their expertise and experience, as it is those qualities that secures us work among our key customers.
“Reaching 100 people is an epic milestone because it shows that we have continued to find the very best, professional and vastly experienced people to join this impressive team and help the company meet its strategic goals.”
Next, we caught up with Gabe Wade, Associate Project Manager in TSS
“I joined Inzpire straight out of university in 2022 and have enjoyed every second of it so far. Being raised in a family with a military background, I always wanted to work in the defence industry, so I was determined to join the company.
“I started out in a relatively new team within TSS as an Opportunities and Tasking Manager. In this role, I needed to understand the wide knowledge set and expertise of Inzpire personnel to enable me to search for new contracting opportunities and help build and develop additional tasking across Inzpire’s three service delivery operational OBUs.
“Earlier this year, I was then promoted to Associate Project Manager, where I have been given more responsibility to manage my own projects and bidding opportunities, whilst continuing to explore new opportunities and playing a more active role in larger projects.
“One of the things I enjoy the most about working within TSS is the extensive knowledge that exists within the team. With so many talented ex-military personnel, you only need to talk to any one of them to find out about their interesting and multifaceted backgrounds and career history. Many of them have gained knowledge in the military from when they were working on a complex operation or from when they were overseeing a project, often managing many groups of multidisciplinary personnel. All this experience has helped TSS, and Inzpire as a whole, to become the cutting-edge company it is today.”
Another one of our team members wanted to share their experience in TSS...
“I joined Inzpire in 2013, and it was definitely one of my better life decisions. The job comes with high levels of autonomy and trust from the management which, at my stage of career, is very important. I am very happy to still be involved with the technical aspects of fast jet aircraft - many years in the RAF do not seem to have beat the plane spotter out of me!
“Being involved with Typhoon and Inzpire has allowed me to work with an excellent, high calibre team of like-minded colleagues. My role involves working for HQ AIR Command, focusing on getting DASS/survivability capability enhancements onto the Typhoon within the usual constraints. I help to generate customer and system requirements sets which ultimately aim to improve Typhoon survivability and freedom of manoeuvre on operational missions.
“TSS reaching 100 people is amazing, but it was only a matter of time. When I joined, it was clear from the quality, dynamism and vision of my peers and higher managers that the clear ambition to expand the division and the company into different areas would be fulfilled.”
Finally, we caught up with Ben Hartley, a Test Analyst! Here’s what he had to say…
“I started working at Inzpire in late 2022, working out of RAF Waddington in the JEWOSC as a Test Analyst. In my role, I test all mission data that comes through the building and provide support and feedback to teams.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working at Inzpire so far, especially within TSS; when I have needed help from different sites, I have reached out to other people within the division, and they have always been very happy to help me.
“The yearly get-together TSS meal must also be mentioned as a highlight. It's great to find out what other sections have been up to over the year, and it's a good way to catch up with everyone you know in one place. It's brilliant that TSS has now hit 100 people; it's a great milestone for our section and hopefully it will only grow more in the future!”
