We are delighted to welcome Vincent Martin to Inzpire.
Vince joins us as a systems test engineer in our growing mission systems team.
He was born into an RAF family and lived in many places around Scotland (where he was born), England and Wales. Vince is continuing to follow in his family's footsteps, with his father already being a member of the company's technical and strategic services team!
Vince was educated at St Peter’s School in York where he found an interest in computer programming, teaching himself the basics of C/C++, Python and Java. After school, he initially began training as a Doctor at Manchester Medical School but realised that the route he was on to becoming a General Practitioner was not his true vocation. He found that he was more interested in the technology surrounding the clinical work, so decided to switch course and completed his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Control Systems at Lincoln University.
In his degree, Vince made good use of MatLab for subjects like state-space control, signal processing and finite element analysis. His 3rd year research project looked at the use of oscillating lights, an EEG array, and signal processing to create a human-machine interface.
After graduation, Vince joined Cognizant Worldwide and underwent training geared towards full-stack development but with a strong focus on automated testing; this included technologies such as Java, HTML/CSS, and SQL. After this training, he was deployed to Glasgow as a test analyst with a leading UK bank currently going through major integration and re-branding. In this role Vince gained significant experience writing, integrating and executing software tests to high integrity systems. Whilst he was promoted early to consultant associate, he really wanted to pursue a more engineering biased role and so is now looking forward to contributing to the growth of Inzpire’s world leading products.
Outside work, Vince enjoys extending his knowledge of everything technology and software and has built a number of varied computer systems and servers. However, when possible, he loves overseas travel coupled with hiking and photography and can’t wait to finally hike the Inca Trail in Peru next year, this having been delayed from this year due to Covid-19.
Welcome to the team, Vince!
