We are delighted to welcome James Fenwick to our collective training team as an RPAS and ISR SME after completing a varied military career.
After joining the Royal Navy as a marine engineer and serving on Type 22 frigates, James quickly sought a career in naval intelligence and was one of the first group of Royal Navy photographers to qualify as imagery analysts. James went on to serve on various units including 42 Cdo RM, HMS Drake and Neptune before arriving at 5(AC) Sqn RAF as a ground image analyst for their initial deployment on Op HERRICK.
Quickly realising a career in the air could be possible, a journey via OASC and basic rear crew training led to James becoming the Royal Navy's first airborne image analyst brevet holder, before going on to complete 1700 hours of multiple operational flying tours in the middle east and Africa on the SENITNEL R1 Aircraft.
Following a short tour as a strategic maritime image analyst of behalf of Defence Intelligence, James returned to flying as a senior mission intelligence co-ordinator for 39 Sqn RAF in the USA. Bringing all of his flying experience to MQ-9, he was able to cement this as an instructor supporting MIC training, gaining a further 1300 hours of ISR and kinetic support to operations.
James currently lives in Chester with his wife Louise and their two daughters. A keen mountain biker, James is also climber with a passion for VWs, and has a love of the outdoors with spans across the whole family.
On joining Inzpire, James said: “Joining Inzpire has been a career-long ambition for 10 years having been across to join Inzpire as a Sentinel SME during ABTC Exercises. I’m very excited to part of the Inzpire family."
Welcome to the team, James!
