Chris Raynes

Head of Helicopter Services Division

Chris joined the Navy and trained as a Sea King pilot on the Commando Helicopter Force at RNAS Yeovilton. After serving tours of Bosnia and Iraq, and participating in a number of maritime deployments, he completed the Qualified Helicopter Instructor course. Subsequently posted on exchange to the Army Air Corps he converted to Apache AH1, completing 3 tours of Afghanistan and aiding the development of the Attack Helicopter Force maritime capability. Chris served 7 years with the Army Air Corps and was awarded the Chief of Joint Operations Commendation for Operations.

Chris left the Navy in 2013, joining Inzpire as a Civilian Qualified Helicopter Instructor on Apache at 673 Squadron Middle Wallop. After 3 years he assumed the position of Helicopter Services Project Lead, before being promoted to Head of Helicopter Services in November 2017. He continues to fly Apache as an Army Reservist.

Chris is married to Milly, and has 2 young children and a black Labrador. He enjoys snowboarding, swimming and running.
