Sophie Paul

Head of Intelligence, Cyber and Counter-Terrorism Division

Prior to joining Inzpire Sophie was an Intelligence Officer in the Royal Air Force for 20 years, where she garnered broad operational, staff and command experience. This has spanned from front-line tactical expertise to the strategic level, encompassing special duties, support to the Chief of Defence Intelligence and the development of new capabilities such as Target Systems Analysis along the way.

With the majority of her time spent in the joint arena, highlights of her service have included command in a special duties environment and post Advanced Staff College, commanding the Operations Division at the Defence Intelligence Fusion Centre at Wyton. Her final tour was something of a departure, but represented an exciting opportunity to lead the development and generation of the RAF’s defensive cyber capability. Sophie’s busy front line tours included many operational deployments to Kuwait and Turkey in support of air operations in Iraq, as well as challenging roles in Kosovo and Afghanistan. Her time in the RAF also allowed her to represent the Service in downhill ski racing, latterly captaining the RAF Ladies team.

Sophie is still keen on skiing, however life with 2 young sons has meant this passion is currently confined to pining over dits from other people’s holidays. Sprint triathlons and an ultra-marathon with Inzpire in 2016 has filled the gap for now!
