The aim of this course is to enable trainees to be able to assess the suitability of a wide range of current and emerging Electro-Optical (EO) technologies operating in the visual and infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, for applications in defence systems.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to critically assess the performance of a range of Electro-Optic systems with due regard to their operational requirements.
Electro-optical Systems find employment across a wide range of defence applications; particularly within the fields of EW, ISR / ISTAR and Tri-Service Defence systems. This course is designed to introduce the main principles of Electro-optical Systems technology and to provide an appreciation of the likely future advances in this technology. This enables students to understand the importance of Electro-optical Systems technology in the context of the wider defence environment.
This course is designed for students who are required to understand Electro-Optic principles and requirements. The course is suitable for all levels of background within this domain; from ab-initio to seasoned operator. The course contains both foundation and advanced academic material.
