This course aims to provide an introduction to Electronic Warfare (EW) techniques, technology and fielded systems across all domains.
This course teaches students how to demonstrate a principle understanding of EW sensor and system technology and identify the principles underlying radar detection in noise and clutter. Students will then be able to relate these principles to operational performance and evaluate first-order performance of common EW systems.
The influence of EW extends throughout the modern defence environment, which means operators and specialists need to thoroughly understand this subject area. This course allows participants to take the first solid steps to developing the required level of understanding. Awareness of Electronic Warfare is essential to understanding own-force capability and to exploiting a potential adversaries’ technical ability. Therefore, this course has been designed to deliver a thorough, ground-up understanding of EW and the effect it has on military principles.
The Introduction to Electronic Warfare course is primarily designed for individuals who have little knowledge of Electronic Warfare. However, due to this course containing both introductory and moderately advanced academic material, it is also suitable as an excellent refresher course for the seasoned Electronic Warfare Instructor or Tactics Instructor.
