The aim of this course is to introduce students to the world of infrared through the understanding of readily accessible concepts. Through the study of theory and practical weapon systems, this course allows participants to take the first steps towards understanding fundamental infrared concepts.
The infrared domain of the electro-magnetic spectrum encompasses aircraft emission, infrared tracking mechanisms and tactical weapon systems, all of which are studied in detail on this course. Upon completion, participants on this course will have a thorough understanding of infrared and the effect it has on military principles.
This course is primarily aimed at beginners, and is designed to progress those with a limited understanding of infrared electronic warfare up to an intermediate level. This course contains both easy to grasp and moderately advanced academic material, thus it is also suitable as a refresher for the seasoned Electronic Warfare Instructor or Tactics Instructor.
