A team of cyber security experts from Inzpire Limited has completed the delivery of a week-long Cyber Security and Resilience course, delivered on behalf of the UK MoD to 15 delegates from 8 nations across Europe and Asia. Participants on the course included both senior military and civilian personnel from a wide range of ministries including Defence, Security, Interior, and State Intelligence.
The course, which aimed to demonstrate UK best practice for improving Cyber Security and Resilience, saw 4 experts from across the Company delivering training on a wide range of cyber security topics including cyber strategy, risk governance and the importance of building security in order to protect cyber assets.
Delegates studied UK cyber doctrine and best practice examples from the UK National Security Cyber Centre, with information delivered through a mix of theory and practical training. The course culminated in students participating in a full day practical training exercise to ensure that on completion, they would be able to effectively apply their learning in a real-world scenario.
The Inzpire delivery team consisted of Graham Basnett (Principal Trainer and Inzpire Cyber Lead), Sophie Paul (Head of Inzpire Cyber, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism Division), Dr Ian Robinson (Head of Inzpire Corporate Information Systems) and Andy Blake (Inzpire Security Manager). Inzpire’s experts bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to cyber training delivery, with Graham previously being heavily involved in the development of the RAF Cyber Strategy; Cyber risk management for military systems; training, education and exercise of cyber to military personnel. During her military career, Sophie Paul was the RAF lead for the implementation of the RAF Cyber Strategy.
On completion of the training, Graham Basnett said: “Highly sophisticated cyber-attacks by nation states and criminal organisations over the past decade have demonstrated that advanced and persistent threats will often get through. That is why Inzpire’s training doesn’t just focus on strategic level structures for improving Cyber Security within an organisation, but also on the operational level planning and training required to fight through a successful major attack on or through cyberspace”.
