Inzpire’s C2/ISR SME, Mark Doney (fourth from the right) recently accepted an Air Officer Commanding Number 1 Group RAF Team Commendation on behalf of the RAF Leeming Operational Training Centre (OTC), which he led from August 2014 to July 2016 whilst serving in the Royal Air Force. The Commendation was presented by AOC 1Gp AVM Mayhew at the recent RAF Leeming Honours & Awards Ceremony, and the occasion marked Mark’s last day in uniform as a Regular RAF Officer.
The role of the OTC is to deliver training and education to the RAF’s Expeditionary Air Wings (EAW) and it was the dedication and innovation displayed by the team in developing and delivering a full EAW training programme during 2015 for which it was commended. The OTC is the RAF’s National representative within the NATO Tactical Evaluation (TACEVAL) Programme, and throughout 2015, Mark and his team developed their capabilities in this area, helping to ensure that the RAF maintains its status within the NATO arena.
As well as excelling in the delivery of collective training, the OTC also embarked on a number of Force Development Activities during 2015, making the use of many locations they visited, including the British Army Training Team House in Oman.
