It is our pleasure to welcome Stuart Macintosh to Inzpire following 18 years in the Royal Air Force, where he served as an avionics technician.
Stuart was fortunate enough to spend the best part of the last decade supporting the Eurofighter Typhoon as a data bus software developer and software team manager within the Typhoon Mission Support Centre at RAF Coningsby. Specialising in the Python programming language, he supported the Typhoon in the creation and maintenance of aircraft diagnostic software, enabling Typhoon engineers to maintain the platform quickly and consistently.
Joining the service in 2005 and upon completion of his technical training at RAF Cosford, he served a tour maintaining the C-130 Hercules at RAF Lyneham, deploying in support of both Op HERRICK and TELIC. After further technical training at Cosford, he completed two operational tours on the Tornado GR4 at RAF Marham, both on and off aircraft, specialising in RADAR maintenance and testing.
Following a promotion, he served at RAF Lossiemouth as a junior non-commissioned officer where he contributed to the standing up of a new Typhoon FGR4 squadron, before transferring to the Typhoon Mission Support Centre in 2014. As a software developer, he made impactful contributions to Typhoon worldwide. After further promotion, he continued to support this role as the team manager, championing diversification and project managing new software solutions to the wider air force.
Residing at Coningsby with his wife Catherine and two children, Stuart enjoys honing his software skills in his spare time, contributing to several online organisations by writing and maintaining numerous software applications. He also enjoys hiking, reading, astronomy and playing the piano.
Stuart now joins our mission systems team, where he is looking forward to further developing his skills and embracing new challenges.
We’re delighted to have you on the team Stuart!
