Before joining Inzpire, Dan served in the RAF for 20 years. He amassed 4000 hours flying on the Hawk and Harrier. After Dan’s first tour on the RAF’s Aggressor unit he was selected to fly the Harrier. His busy front line tours brought operational deployments to Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan, and to Sierra Leone, flying day and night missions from HMS Illustrious.
In 2003, Dan was selected to fly with the RAF Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows. In his last year with the Team, Dan held the coveted position of RED 6 – the leader of the Synchro Pair. In living up to the Red Arrows’ motto ‘ECLAT’ during this challenging tour, Dan learnt the value of tirelessly striving for perfection.
Dan also served on the Harrier Operational Conversion Unit as an Instrument Rating Examiner, Electronic Warfare Instructor and Qualified Weapons Instructor. As the Executive Officer on the OCU, he redesigned the Harrier course to ensure graduating students were prepared for the challenges of operations in Afghanistan. For this work, Dan was awarded a Commander in Chief’s Commendation.
Dan started with Inzpire in 2010 as an Air-To-Ground SME working within the White Force team supporting the Air Battlespace Training Centre, responsible for designing and delivering world-class synthetic training exercises. In 2014 Dan started Inzpire’s Aviation Experts Division and, having won a contract to provide White Force support to the RAF’s Air Warfare Centre, he is now responsible for delivery teams both at RAF Waddington and on 29 Squadron, the Typhoon Operational Conversion Unit, delivering team and collective operational training in the live environment.
Dan became Inzpire’s ASDOT bid lead in April 2018.
Dan is a very keen cyclist and regularly commutes from his home in Grantham to the Inzpire office in Lincoln.
