Designed by Inzpire’s exceptional team of engineers and ex-military aircrew - many of whom used GECO operationally during their time in the armed forces - the GECO tablet system features an advanced electronic flight bag (EFB) which will meet all military mission needs.
The intuitive user interface provides the right information, at the right time and in the right format, enabling quicker, better and safer decisions to be made.
Its operational credentials have been proven over the last decade, with the UK Ministry of Defence using the system since 2008. In total, GECO is currently in use on 22 different fast jet, helicopter and multi-engine platforms around the world and has been used operationally by crews in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and Africa.

The GECO EFB provides a range of features to assist in the generation and maintenance of airborne situational awareness. In addition to satellite imagery and 2D and 3D maps at a wide range of scales, the device provides the following user-friendly features:
- Simple intuitive navigation for tactical routes and IFR flight plans.
- Display of tactical overlays including: ACO, CGRS/GARS kill boxes, bullseye, spots and compounds, multiple coordinate systems and target imagery.
- Plotting and display of surface threats.
The core aim of Inzpire’s military electronic flight bag is to enhance the safety of its users. The system provides a range of aircrew assistance features to provide accurate and timely information about the environment in which the aircraft is operating. Key features include:
- Instantaneous diversion indication, providing the user with an automatic selection of the most appropriate diversion options based on the aircraft criteria.
- Flight checklist hosting which displays hyperlinked checklists, allowing the user to quickly and easily work through complex emergency handling.
- Airfield information which is presented at a single touch of a button. A second touch presents the user with approach plates.
- Obstacle and terrain awareness which provide the user with critical information about the terrain and any obstacles which may pose a risk to the aircraft’s safety.
Today’s operations are data-driven and Inzpire’s military EFB manages all mission data types though its advanced database and filtering system. This ensures that the user is presented with the right information, at the right time and in the right format.
The GECO Electronic flight bag supports the following data types:
- Mapping and imagery at all scales.
- Terrain databases.
- Aeronautical data: DAFIF, Jeppesen and Navblue nav data, terminal approach procedures, helicopter landing site / minor aerodrome documents, en-route supplements.
- Documents: .pdf, .doc, .html, .xml, .ppt, .xls, .jpg.
- Obstacle data: DVOF, XVOD, AIXM, shapefiles.
- NOTAM data.
- Meteorological data.
- Shapes, line and spot point overlays: KML, KMZ, GML, GMZ, AML.
- 3rd party mission planning outputs: CRD, XML.
