New Joiners
Owen has joined our Integrated Sensors and Systems team as a Typhoon Requirements Manager.
Owen joined the RAF in 1983 and, following training, served as a navigator on the F4 Phantom before re-rolling to the Tornado F3 in 1988; tours on No’s 5 and 56(R) Squadron followed. He was seconded to The Royal Saudi Air Force on Tornado ADV for 4 years at Dharan, returning to serve on 29(F) Squadron at RAF Coningsby from 1997-1999. A one-year sabbatical was spent gaining an MSc in Aerosystems at the Air Warfare Centre, RAF Cranwell; a course which qualified him to become a mission systems trials specialist. He was then posted to BAE Systems at Warton aerodrome introducing new weapons and avionics in to service for the RAF on to the Tornado F3 platform.
Owen returned to RAF Coningsby in 2003 to become the avionic equipment subject matter expert on the Tornado F3 operational evaluation unit latterly to be known as 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron (TES). The next 4 years were spent testing and trialling all equipment that was introduced to the Tornado F3 aircraft.
Leaving Coningsby in 2007, Owen became a Qualified Navigation Instructor on 56(R) Squadron and over the next 3 years taught ab-initio Weapon System Operators the fine art of airborne weapons system manipulation and control in the Dominie aircraft. Whilst at Cranwell, Owen also completed a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator course and trained as an Aircrew Performance Coach. Returning once again in 2010 to RAF Coningsby he became the subject matter expert for Typhoon radar on 17(R) TES.
Owen left the RAF in 2012, after amassing over 4000 flying hours, 3000 of which were on fast jets including some on Typhoon. During his time in the RAF he was also one of the BBMF Lancaster navigators and led the Queen's Birthday flypast in the Dakota.
Upon leaving the RAF, Owen continued his work specialising in trials, working for QinetiQ as a radar/avionic/platform SME where he was involved in introducing many programs to Eurofighter before joining Inzpire in April 2019.
In his spare time Owen runs to keep fit enough to play squash, which keeps him supple enough to play golf; in the odd mad moment he enters triathlons! He is married to Suzanne and has 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren, and is always happy to talk all things Typhoon and Rugby!
Welcome to the team Owen. We're delighted that you have joined us.

Cyber Security
As organisations grapple with the complexities of cyber security, a beacon of guidance is emerging: the “Secure by Design” (SbD) approach.
Our team are here to help. If you have any questions, no matter how big or small, please get in touch.
