It’s been a fantastic year for our team of STEM ambassadors, having attended an array of events in an effort to inspire the next generation. Here’s what we’ve been up to…
We were very proud to sponsor the UK Cyber Team Competition, with the live final taking place in January 2025. The event was designed to identify the best 18–25-year-olds in the country to represent the UK in international capture the flag competitions.
Our team assisted in the competition by assessing the players’ soft skills alongside their individual performances in each round. We designed and developed an assessment matrix to compile both quantitative and qualitative data to aid the selection panel.
In February, we celebrated the 10th annual International Day of Women and Girls by hosting an exciting day of STEM activities for John Blow Primary School. 28 female students attended the Air Battlespace Training Centre (ABTC) at RAF Waddington.
The students got to ‘fly’ flight simulators used by the military, participate in an aircraft building workshop, and received some short talks from inspirational women in the aerospace industry.
In April, our STEM team attended Forces in STEM at the RAF Museum in London – an event which brought together over 20 companies, providing hands-on activities for children in Years 5 & 6.
Delivered in partnership with the Royal Air Force, the event is free for children to attend and includes an array of activities throughout the day.
Throughout the year, we attended several RAF Families Days – including RAF Coningsby and RAF Benson. It was fantastic to meet and engage with service personnel and their families, as well as providing some fun for children and adults alike.
At RAF Coningsby, our very own Mark ‘Nuts’ McNulty was also in action, performing a display in the Lancaster as part of his reservists’ role.
In August, we attended the NASC Industry Day held at RAF Syerston. The NASC is a premier, week-long event for Royal Air Force Cadets focused on aerospace, aviation and STEM. The Industry Day takes part in this week, allowing cadets to connect with over 70 industry partners and gain valuable insights into defence careers.
In September, we attended the second Forces in STEM event of the year – this time, held at the RAF Museum Midlands at RAF Cosford.
Delivered in partnership with the RAF Youth STEM team, the day showcased the fantastic work carried out by companies and institutions that are innovating, researching and manufacturing across the STEM spectrum.
In October, our STEM team visited RAF Halton in support of the RAF Girls Festival of Rugby. This event is the largest girls-only rugby festival in the UK and provided an excellent opportunity to bring science, technology, engineering and mathematics to young minds and also to champion girls in sport.
We provided interactive demonstrations to help develop interest within the players and even got members of the RAF Women’s Rugby Team – sponsored by Inzpire - to take part too!
STEM is at the centre of everything we do within Inzpire. Our ambassadors enjoy sharing real-life experiences to engage and encourage young people to consider pursuing a career in STEM. I'm already looking forward to attending more events in 2026!"
It’s been a brilliant year for our STEM ambassadors – we’ve connected with countless young minds across the country, providing engaging activities to encourage individuals to pursue the world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
We’re very proud of the partnerships we’ve build and look forward to continuing our work in 2026. Thank you to our dedicated STEM team, to which without their efforts, this would not be possible.
