Inzpire is pleased to announce a contract extension to deliver cutting-edge military helicopter training at the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre (MHTC) in Sintra, Portugal, continuing until December 2026.
This extension highlights our ongoing commitment to strengthening European defence capabilities and developing interoperability among NATO and EU member states.
Having already trained almost 1000 students through the MHTC, our expert instructors will continue training military personnel from over 25 European nations in essential skills, with courses including:
Helicopter Tactics Course
Helicopter Tactics Instructor Course
Electronic Warfare
Composite Air Operations.
Our comprehensive training programme spans basic helicopter tactics theory to advanced practical synthetic and live-flying missions, catering to both newly qualified pilots and experienced aircrew preparing to become tactics instructors on operational squadrons.
To enhance our training capability, we have integrated an experienced military drone operator into our instructor team. This addition enables us to prepare helicopter crews for the increasingly complex and drone-saturated battlespace they may encounter during operations.
The team draws from its extensive British Army and Royal Air Force operational experience across attack and support helicopters, fast jets and command and control aircraft to create training scenarios that address real-world operational requirements.
Students consistently praise the calibre of instruction, with one participant noting:
"Great instructors who are always ready to expand on the subject at hand with their vast personal experience."
Another student commented:
"Excellent job of a very skilled team. It is highly necessary to have a team that is experienced in battle theatres and tactics. The Inzpire team have a lot of experience, and we learned a lot from them. In my opinion you could not run this course with less experience, everything depends on that."
Craig Brown, Head of Aviation Training Division, Inzpire said:
“Thanks to the team’s commitment to excellence, we are pleased to continue supporting the Multinational Helicopter Training Centre in the delivery of tactical courses to participating nations for another 12 months.
“Not only does this demonstrate the strong relationship between MHTC and Inzpire but it also gives our team the opportunity to continue contributing their experience and skills to the education and collaboration of our neighbouring European countries. We look forward to another year of successful course delivery and a further strengthening of strategic ties and friendships.”
The MHTC serves as a crucial hub where European military personnel can develop standardised approaches to complex multinational operations, allowing seamless coordination in future joint deployments. By creating a shared tactical understanding and common operational language among allied helicopter crews, we are helping build a more cohesive and effective European defence capability.
We have been providing instructional and simulator support to the MHTC since January 2024, prior to that supporting the European Defence Agency since 2020, and before that at RAF Linton on Ouse from 2018.
