Inzpire’s Compact Agile Simulation Equipment for Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (CASE JTAC) demonstrated its value by enhancing joint fires training and interoperability on a recent NATO exercise.
A major international military exercise brought together JTAC and fire support team personnel from multiple NATO nations. To meet their integrated close air support training objectives, while reducing costs, participants required an immersive simulation capability that could:
Replicate complex joint fires scenarios in a virtual environment
Enable multinational teams to train collectively on shared simulated battlespaces
Integrate real equipment alongside virtual systems
Provide a deployable solution to support training across multiple locations
We deployed CASE JTAC, a portable, ruggedised simulator system that brings training to the trainee, combining real peripherals with mixed-reality headsets to create a true-to-life training and mission rehearsal environment.
Key benefits, included:
360-degree visualisation for full immersion
Networking of systems for multi-crew, multi-platform collective training
Integration of participants' real-world operational equipment and procedures
Easy transportation and setup across multiple training areas in different nations
We also provided comprehensive exercise support including expert scenario design, close air support role players and an experienced simulator operator to facilitate demanding, high-fidelity training.
CASE JTAC enabled multinational participants to train on simulated missions in a joint environment, while employing tactics, techniques and actual equipment. The mixed-reality technology supported a high transfer of learning against operational requirements.
As one senior instructor stated: "A fully immersive system with real world interaction gave JTAC and fires experts a realistic, novel and challenging experience."
By delivering its innovative CASE simulation alongside comprehensive training services, we significantly enhanced joint fires readiness and coalition interoperability, providing a cost-effective solution to live training alone.
