The challenge

Managing the UK’s Lightning requirements against a multinational US-led programme presents many unique challenges. Personnel must navigate incomplete data and redacted documents, while integrating new capabilities like weapons, countermeasures, and mission planning tools. Limited experience and staffing gaps within the military teams can further compound these difficulties.

Our approach

Our team of experienced, former-RAF and Royal Navy operators and engineers offer a breadth of RM expertise perfectly suited for the Lightning Force.

Working within the Air Capability Delivery area of Air Command, our scope of work is broad. In addition to traditional RM tasks like document production and management, we take a hands-on approach to developing delivery strategies, planning modifications and retrofits, and providing deep technical advisory support. We also play a key role is scoping new requirements and gathering evidence for the approvals process.

We work closely with the Combat Air Force HQ at RAF Marham, and the Lightning Delivery Team at MOD Abbey Wood, enjoying a trusted relationship built on our ability to solve complex problems. Our experts will often be at the centre of the challenge of the day, identifying pragmatic solutions as well as fulfilling a mentor-like role for inexperienced teams.

Our Lightning RM team has become indispensable to the UK Lightning enterprise's success, providing continuity, competence and tailored support.
