Inzpire are delighted to announce that Al Sutherland, our Information Manager, has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the delivery of training from the Air Battlespace Training Centre with a Joint Force Air Component Commander (JFACC) Commendation.
The award, bestowed upon Al by Air Commodore David Cooper (JFACC), recognised Al’s contribution to the recent delivery of Exercise COBRA WARRIOR.
The full citation is as follows:
“Mr Sutherland is the Inzpire IM Manager contracted at the ABTC and his efforts during the recent integration of Exercise COBRA WARRIOR capabilities deserves appropriate recognition.
Working well outside his contractual terms, Mr Sutherland had no hesitation in supporting and then leading the IT development associated with the Exercise and highlights his understanding of what a great opportunity the project will provide both now and in the future.
When the project was initially scoped at the ABTC, Mr Sutherland was front and centre in helping and advising the 92(R) Sqn and HQ AIR Command team that had been charged with delivering the exercise.
His innovative solutions and encyclopaedic knowledge of the ABTC facility, DII process and capabilities has expedited the articulation of requirements and ensured that the final delivery of equipment was optimised for the training audience.
Once the requirements had been agreed with 92(R) Sqn and HQ Air, Mr Sutherland captured exactly what was required and worked tirelessly to ensure that C4i at RAF Waddington were kept informed of any developments during the approvals process. He has played a critical role in liaising with the security accreditation organisations and the QinetiQ Project Manager to ensure that both agencies have satisfied security policy.
Working closely with the infrastructure lead, Mr Sutherland’s pragmatic and flexible approach has been particularly noteworthy, shown by his unfaltering support and willingness to contribute at every opportunity.
His support has been invaluable during the complex installation and undoubtedly made the project viable in the timescales available.
In sum, a superb performance from a dedicated individual”
Al, who has been working as Information Manager in our Synthetic Training Division since September 2008, spent 22 years in the RAF. He is pictured here receiving his JFACC Commendation from Wg Cdr Matt Grafton, OC ABTC.
The whole Inzpire team would like to say congratulations to Al, who is a huge asset to our team. Well done, Al!
