Inzpire are very proud to announce that Mike Stafford, our Rotary Field Service Representative, has been awarded the prestigious Rotorcraft Specialist Group Award by the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Mike was presented with this award in recognition of his selfless dedication to the continued development of new Defensive Aids Suites that have protected UK service personnel flying on
operations for the past decade. His achievements were recognised at the Royal Aeronautical Society Honours and Awards event on Wednesday 4th November.
Mike enjoyed a varied 30-year flying career with the RAF on both fixed wing and rotary platforms. During his time with the Rotary Wing Operational Evaluation & Training Unit he was involved in a variety of rotary wing projects and trials covering a wide range of generic helicopter capability. He specialised in defensive aids and mission systems and was heavily involved with the development and introduction into service of a new defensive aids suite architecture, first on Chinook and then on Puma. Mike retired from the RAF earlier this year and joined Inzpire’s Mission Systems Group in May.
On his nomination and subsequent award success, Mike said “I was extremely honoured to be nominated for this year’s Royal Aeronautical Society’s Rotorcraft Specialist Group Award. Attending the ceremony last week, and meeting other awards nominees from a wide spectrum of aviation specialisations, was a fantastic experience”.
Inzpire are extremely proud of Mike’s achievements, and the fantastic work he continues to provide to our Armed Forces as part of our team.
