We are set to support the analysis and development of training for a pioneering programme that will transform maritime operations through the integration of advanced autonomous systems.
This initiative embodies a commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology, which will deliver agile, interoperable and survivable maritime capabilities. The phased development approach aims to replace legacy platforms with an ecosystem of advanced autonomous systems by the early 2030s.
Tineke Brooks, our Head of Training Services, said:
"We are honoured to be part of this transformative initiative that will shape the future of maritime operations. Our approach ensures that we can meet the challenges of this programme, where training solutions must evolve in response to continuous development and increasing maturity.
“With our subject matter experts, we provide operationally relevant, real-world training solutions, delivering precise training tailored to the unique challenges of integrating autonomous systems. Our team will work with the end users and manufacturers to ensure optimal performance of each platform, alongside current and future capabilities.”
As an independent supplier of training solutions with extensive expertise in delivering training needs analysis (TNA) for complex military programmes, our Training Services Division (TSD) is well positioned to support the requirements of this programme. Furthermore, TSD will draw on technical experts from within our Maritime Division, blending deep-rooted training expertise with extensive maritime technical knowledge.
This potent combination of specialisations ensures that the TNA approach will be meticulously tailored to the unique demands of the military programme, considering both the pedagogical requirements and the intricate technical nuances.
Gareth Havis, our Head of Maritime Division, said:
"This knowledge and experience will be invaluable in informing the TNA and ensuring that our training solutions evolve with the programme's maturity. By fostering open communication and building trust, we can ensure that our training solutions are effective, practical and adaptable to meet fluid programme requirements.”
We’re actively involved in developing the programme’s concept of use; as part of this development, the organisation is defining how maritime autonomous systems will be deployed across scenarios to deliver operations safely and effectively. The concept focuses on optimising autonomous systems to reduce personnel risks, increase operational tempo and enhance resilience.
