The Typhoon Mission Support Centre - with a Whole Force approach throughout - has Inzpire's technical and strategic services personnel fully integrated within the Typhoon Mission Data Team (TMDT). Our personnel provide subject matter expertise on the Typhoon Defensive Aid Sub System (DASS) which covers some of the following aspects:
‘Cradle to Grave’ production of the DASS MD involves Typhoon MD Task Management to meet all Typhoon Force Requirements; MD Specification and build; post-flight MD performance analysis and operational MD front line detachment support; MD process development and TMDT personnel career development and management.
DASS Development
This involves SME knowledge in support of requirements capture for the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) embedded Inzpire Requirements Managers; Test & Evaluation of DASS software involving trials planning, execution and analysis using hardware in the loop testing and flight trials.
Front Line Units’ Training
Inzpire TMDT personnel regularly brief frontline aircrew and support personnel on the Typhoon DASS and MD. They are also pivotal in supporting high-end exercises by providing fast MD updates and increasing frontline personnel knowledge.
The Inzpire Typhoon Mission Support Team (TMST) directly supports operations, exercises and trial activities. Recently the TMST deployed to Exercise RED FLAG and to overseas DASS development trials as well as concurrently supporting operational deployments in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Because the vast majority of our Inzpire personnel have many years of valuable military experience behind them, we are able to seamlessly integrate with our military partners, whether that be in the UK or deployed around the world, because we have been ‘in their shoes’ and are therefore able to provide a unique and integral service that is second to none!
As Typhoon capability grows, the MD is getting increasingly more complex. Therefore, the development of tools and processes to cope with this complexity is the next challenge. The vastly experienced, qualified and military orientated Inzpire personnel that make up TMST, after over 6 years of continuous support to the Typhoon MSC and CAP, are best placed and trusted to continue this vital role.
This blog is written by John Booth, who is Inzpire's principal mission support manager. John served as a navigator in the RAF for 27 years, and towards the end of his military career was at the centre of the Typhoon Defensive Aids Sub System development and Typhoon Mission Data production.
