The first Wellbeing Weekend of the year was a resounding success, attracting a fantastic turnout of 22 attendees – made up of both Inzpire personnel and their families.
From Friday 17th May through to Sunday 19th May, the group embarked on an adventurous trip to Bridlington, where they undertook a 15-mile coastal walk along the cliff tops. This journey offered breathtaking views, including the striking Drinking Dragon, a picturesque colony of seals, and some incredible rock formations.

Our EDP Associate Project Manager, Adele Hadfield, organised the walk alongside her husband Al. She said:
“Our chosen basecamp was South Cliff Holiday Park, which provided a variety of accommodation options, this played its part in attracting more attendees. Bridlington itself turned out to be a delightful place to explore, the weekend coincided with a kite festival. The options for the walk itself allowed for all walking abilities.
“After our long day of hiking, we enjoyed a meal at a local restaurant, where the fish and chips were a highlight. By the end of the day, everyone, children included, were completely exhausted!
“On Sunday, before we all headed home, we gathered on the beach for some fun games and a refreshing dip in the sea. Despite the windy conditions, everyone had a wonderful time. It was inspiring to see some of our members push themselves to their limits and overcome personal challenges over the course of the weekend.
"It’s a joy to see the families year after year come together and to see lots of new faces too.”

Dave Hewson, GECO Support Engineer, also took part in the Wellbeing Weekend:
“Nestled on the stunning Yorkshire coast, Bridlington offered the perfect backdrop for a much-needed break from our usual hectic work routine.
“The event was not just about walking; it was an opportunity to connect with colleagues in a relaxed, non-work environment. As we strolled along the rugged coastline, enjoying views of the sandy beaches and scenic clifftops, the bracing sea breeze and the rhythmic sound of waves provided a calming and relaxing experience. The weekend was a delightful mix of light-hearted conversations, laughter, and shared experiences. It was wonderful to see everyone in a different light, far removed from the usual office setting.
“The Wellbeing Walking Weekend was a reminder of the importance of taking time out to focus on our mental and physical health. It highlighted how beneficial it is to spend quality time with colleagues outside of work, fostering stronger relationships and a more cohesive team spirit!”
Tineke Brooks, Head of Training Services Division, also spent the weekend in Bridlington:
“The planning of the trip and the execution was above and beyond itself, but the attention to detail around inclusivity for adults and children was exceptional, from adjusted routes to cater for less mobile individuals to activities for the children.
"Events such as this provide the opportunity for Inzpire colleagues and their families to get together outside of the work environment. Furthermore, the opportunity to get out in the open air is just simply a great way to decompress and relax!"
