Bob Chevli, Ellie Moore and Anna Dye were honoured to attend the official opening of the remodelled Neonatal Unit at Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham on behalf of Inzpire.
We've been supporting Nottingham Hospitals Charity (NHC) for the last ten years, raising over £20,000 in honour of one of our team members. Bob Chevli and his family were greatly supported by NHC when his daughter spent nine days at Queen’s Medical Centre, before sadly passing away in hospital.

As a result of donations, NHC has been able to support the build of the Neonatal Unit every step of the way, by providing vital funding and support.
This impressive project has quadrupled the size of the previous unit, going from 500 square feet to 2000 square feet; significantly increasing its capacity to treat more babies.

Here’s what NHC has helped to fund on the Neonatal unit, as a result of vital donations and fundraising:
A welcoming entrance area, including a skylight, to make the unit more welcoming and less daunting for families and visitors
Plug sockets and charging points specifically for parents in cot areas, to allow families to stay connected to loved ones, as well as allowing them to access work devices
The glazed, wildflower themed screens between bays to give families a sense of privacy and space with their babies, and to help the environment feel less clinical
Specialist flooring and acoustic underlay to help minimise noise, as babies should not be exposed to sounds of more than 40 decibels
Calming artwork for the expressing room and parent accommodation, to help create a more relaxing atmosphere
Comfortable furniture for the waiting area and family room, to help provide a home from home for families who may be on the ward for weeks, or even months
Children's play equipment to give siblings a safe and enjoyable space to play while they have a baby brother or sister on the unit
Breast pumps to enable new mothers to express milk

Nigel Gregory, CEO of Nottingham Hospital’s Charity, said:
“I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone at Inzpire who has been involved in raising an incredible amount of money for the Big Appeal. Thanks to your support, we've been able to fund these important enhancements on the new Neonatal Unit at QMC.
"The special touches, home comforts and additional equipment will make a real difference to babies and their families at an extremely difficult time. We hope it will help to provide a home-from-home environment for families who may spend weeks or even months on the unit. Thank you to Inzpire for helping to make this possible."

Bob Chevli, ABTC IWF Team Leader here at Inzpire, said:
“It was a privilege to be at the grand opening of the new Neonatal unit at QMC Nottingham. While being shown around, it was clear that the new facility is state of the art, not only for the newborn babies who will be directly cared for, but also for those families who will need to be at the unit for prolonged periods of time.
“It was great to see how money we’ve donated to the Nottingham Children’s Hospital has been so expertly used to provide living accommodation, social spaces and amenities which will help and support families going through one of the most difficult times they will face.”
