We are thrilled to share that Inzpire has been selected as a finalist in the Employer of the Year category of the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards.
One of our team, Simon Taylor, has also been shortlisted in the Innovator of the Year group thanks to his inspirational work outside of Inzpire as co-founder of Rehab Guru, a successful digital health technology company.
In the world's largest celebration of military veterans in second careers, the Employer of the Year award recognises an organisation that has demonstrated a great desire to attract, retain and support ex-forces personnel.
Inzpire employs over 300 people – 81% of whom are ex-forces. With military heritage running deep within our DNA, and a range of policies in place to ensure veterans are welcomed into an organisation with goals, values and a culture that closely aligns with their time in service; we are honoured to be shortlisted as a finalist in this prestigious award.

People Director Rich Havercroft said: “In such a significant awards programme packed with inspiring examples of how armed forces veterans are contributing to businesses throughout the country, I’m absolutely delighted that Inzpire has been shortlisted. The military experience of our people is a fundamental part of our heritage and culture, and we continue to welcome colleagues from all the services as they forge new careers and make a critical contribution to Inzpire’s continued success.”
Simon Taylor is a senior software engineer and principal training consultant at Inzpire, having joined the company last year. He co-founded Rehab Guru in 2015 while serving as a training officer in the Royal Air Force and now continues his role as company director alongside his work at Inzpire. His passion for medical technology and innovation has seen Rehab Guru become a global leader in digital exercise prescription and remote patient monitoring, with over one million exercise programs already delivered to patients around the world.
Founded in 2017, the Ex-Forces in Business Awards shines a light on the veteran talent pool while also increasing visibility of business role models for service leavers.
Lt. Gen. Sir Andrew Gregory, CEO at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, said: “As a former Chief of Defence People, I know just how important it is to have strong visibility of forces friendly employers and of veterans who have transitioned into meaningful second careers. These awards lead the way in amplifying that visibility, which makes us very proud to once again be the official charity partner of this important awards programme.
“Our warmest congratulations and sincere thanks go to all those who have been shortlisted for this year's British Ex-Forces in Business Awards. They set such a tremendous example for how military-gained skills and values can be successfully applied across all sectors."
Competition was high this year with a record-breaking 800 nominations coming in for the awards, across all categories. Winners will be decided by an independent judging panel of business leaders and then announced at a ceremony on 29 June 2023.
Ben Rossi, founder of the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards, said: “Six years ago we set out a vision for a grand showcase of veteran talent to promote to all UK employers the business case of hiring from the Armed Forces community, while also giving service leavers the confidence to dream bigger. Each year we are even more blown away than the last at the response to this programme. The extraordinary achievements displayed through the 800-plus nominations received for this year’s British Ex-Forces in Business Awards should leave no doubt in anybody’s mind that the veteran talent pool must never be overlooked.”
Best of luck to all the finalists!
