Our Cyber Division has carried out a number of tasks that will help both our inhouse cyber professionals, and those around the UK, develop key skills.
We have assisted the UK Cyber Security Council (UKCSC) in mapping a multitude of cyber qualifications to its Cyber Career Framework, which features pathways for the 16 specialisms in cyber security.
Proud to be able to contribute to such an important project, we were tasked with evaluating and allocating course material to fundamental concepts and domains detailed in the Cyber Security Body of Knowledge (CyBOK). These mappings helped to categorise the training under a common standard which will help simplify the complex landscape of qualifications under the 16 UKCSC specialisms.
The initiative aims to provide cyber professionals with direction to help formalise their expertise and skills in appropriate areas, thus supporting their career advancement.

Building on the momentum of this work, over the past six months, we have also developed a Cyber Division Framework for internal use, aligned to the UKCSC, CyBOK and SFIA grades. The primary purpose to aid both employee and employer, from recruitment to retirement, by defining an individual’s career progression roadmap.
The Framework allows cyber personnel from Inzpire to develop within one of the UKCSC’s 16 specialisms; with key skills, competencies and personal attributes mapped out for each role at various levels ranging from Assistant to Principal, outlining training requirements and presenting visible career progression pathways.

Our internal framework outlines training requirements and presents visible career progression pathways for our team
By using UKCSC and CyBOK as the basis for our internal professional development framework, we are able to clearly specify the desired attributes required from an individual for a certain role. Using this new tool, we can immediately identify training requirements to bridge training gaps within the team.
One of the ways we look to bridge such gaps is by using our newly developed Certification Matrix tool, also based on UKCSC’s Certification Framework, which allows individuals to find useful certifications within their specialism and level of experience.
We are working continuously to ensure our employees obtain and maintain the requisite knowledge and skills for their specialist areas, to facilitate consistent delivery of highly qualified individuals into cyberspace.

The UK Cyber Security Council is the self-regulatory body for the UK's cyber security profession. It develops, promotes and stewards nationally recognised standards for cyber security in support of the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Strategy to make the UK the safest place to live and work online.
A comprehensive Body of Knowledge to inform and underpin education and professional training for the cyber security sector.
The CyBOK project aims to bring cyber security into line with the more established sciences by distilling knowledge from major internationally recognised experts to form a Cyber Security Body of Knowledge that will provide much-needed foundations for this emerging topic.
