Inzpire’s Remotely Piloted Air Systems (RPAS) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Division has supported QinetiQ with the design and delivery of courseware modules for the new ETPS Uncrewed Air Systems Test course.
Inzpire played a key role in the development of lessons for the Foundation, Aircraft Systems, and Mission Systems modules, with the team drawing on its extensive knowledge and operational experience within military uncrewed air systems (UAS) and RPAS to progress learning objectives.
The ETPS course aims to develop the skills and competencies of flight test practitioners, enabling them to lead test teams working in the rapidly evolving UAS sector.
Inzpire’s tri-service team delivered the inaugural course at MOD Boscombe Down
Course elements have been specifically selected to help students gain experience in areas extensively practised in the world of UAS and crewed platforms, preparing them to work with industry and meet operational demands upon graduation. A core component is the airborne assessment of systems through access to crewed and uncrewed platforms, with a variety of aircraft and mission systems.
Inzpire also supplied ETPS with a fully tri-service team of experts to deliver the inaugural course at MOD Boscombe Down, where they provided real-word operational insight from air, land and maritime perspectives to benefit the student cohort.
Dan Marshall, Deputy Head of RPAS and ISR Division, said:
“We are delighted to be working alongside our QinetiQ colleagues in shaping this inaugural UAS Test course, the first of its kind, delivered at the world's first and most respected test pilot school, ETPS.
“It has been a privilege to meet and instruct the first of many students who, as trailblazing ETPS qualified UAS test specialists, will no doubt go on to meet the operational demands and work with industry in the rapidly evolving UAS sector. Inzpire very much looks forward to continuing to support and develop this pioneering course.”
ETPS
Delivered by QinetiQ and based at MOD Boscombe Down in Wiltshire, ETPS offers an extensive range of modular courses - across its Rotary Wing, Fixed Wing and UAS fleet - for Test Pilots, Flight Test Engineers, Systems Test and Evaluator Aircrew covering experimental, development and systems testing.
Inzpire’s ISR and RPAS Division
Inzpire’s RPAS and ISR Division delivers expertise in crewed and uncrewed ISR domains through an expert team with over 35,000 operational flying hours across a range of platforms.
The division’s capabilities span training design and delivery; operational managed services; consultancy and expert advice in all aspects of the ISR capability life cycle, from requirement capture and definition through to platform concepts of operation, training and operations.
The division’s tri-service team of experts are highly experienced former front-line operators and instructors in ISR and RPAS operations, many of whom retain currency in their capacity as military reservists. This ensures Inzpire’s ISR experts retain a solid understanding of what ISR practitioners need at all times.
