Since my momentary loss of reason in October 2015 when I agreed to take part in The Wall Ultramarathon, I have been trying to train diligently.

Jonny Priest Completes his 50th Training Run

I cannot say that I have been completely successful and any ideas that I had of being lean and fit by now have certainly not materialised. That said I have now completed fifty training runs, 480km, thirty blisters and one pulled calf muscle.

While it doesn't sound too bad, I can't help but look at those numbers from the other side. In fifty runs I have managed to complete just over four times the distance of The Wall, so based on those statistics I will only need a month to finish the race, slightly outside the 26-hour limit.... So perhaps one shouldn't look at the numbers too much. As someone far more intelligent than I, and yes I am aware that is a cast of billions, once said, 'lies, damned lies and statistics'. I guess I just need to keep running, at least it keeps Monty the dog happy.
