However for the purposes of explanation and potential cathartic benefits to myself I would like to look to the beautiful game to help explain how the Mission Systems Team at Inzpire works together to design, develop and deliver systems from our award winning GECO family of products.
Ours is a truly multi-disciplined and very talented team. That doesn't mean we’re all captains of industry who can single-handedly turn an idea into a customer deliverable overnight, no more than Gary Neville (during his playing days at Man U) could glide through the midfield, skip a couple of defenders and dink the ball over an advancing keeper into an empty net. Despite his lack of flare and natural ability, Gary was a crucial part in one of the most successful teams English football has ever seen. He had a job to do, he understood completely what that job was (get the ball, give it to Becks!) and he executed it superbly well. His contribution, whilst seldom eye catching or spectacular, was extremely effective. He knew what his team needed from him and his team knew what to expect.
Similarly each member of the Mission Systems Team has a specific role to play and like the now exited manager of Valencia (should have stuck to punditry!), whether it’s in Requirements, Test, Design, Development, Safety, Security, Production or the management and coordination of these discrete disciplines, we depend on each other to understand our respective roles and execute them superbly well.
To do that we need not only to pick the right team which affords us the right blend of complementary skills, but also require the facilities, infrastructure and support to make sure every member of the team is match fit and continues to perform in their defined role; I doubt old Gary ever got involved in booking the team coach for a tricky away trip to Southampton and you’d have played him “up top” at your peril.
For a team of less than 25 our competition success makes impressive reading:
Played 7 Won 7 Lost 0 Drawn 0
With the continued financial and non-financial investment, the right people with the right facilities and support, we could continue to be a team capable of challenging for top honours for many years to come.
