We’re delighted to welcome Amy Raynor to team Inzpire, as our new Scrum Master within Mission Systems!
Born and raised in Nottinghamshire, Amy completed both undergraduate and master’s degrees before beginning her professional career in 2013 at the Met Office. Fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a weather forecaster, Amy worked in defence meteorology roles for almost a decade, both as a civil servant and RAF reservist within the mighty mobile met unit!
Throughout this time, she supported a wide range of military customers across all three services. Her passion for travel led Amy to deploy to over 15 locations worldwide, experiencing a wide range of interesting clouds and weather in locations such as the Falklands, Ascension Island, Cyprus, Romania, Oman, North Macedonia and Croatia.
Seeking a new challenge, Amy then stepped into leadership roles in many of these locations, managing the Met Office teams and ensuring service delivery to a wide range of customers and stakeholders. Most notably, she received two leadership awards for her time as Akrotiri Principal Met Officer, during which she led the met team in providing excellent service provision to support Operation SHADER and during the onset of COVID-19.
Following these experiences and keen to increase her business skills, Amy then moved into the role of Defence Partnerships Account Manager. Working with both UK and international defence partners, she furthered her experience of relationship management and supporting business functions including procurement, finance, sales and legal.
Amy’s final Met Office role was Product Manager and Scrum Master within the platform technology team. She led multiple technical teams as a subject-matter expert, helping to streamline ways of working. Amy also led her wider team in building product strategies, visions and roadmaps, providing clear direction so that they could continually support organisational objectives.
She said: “I feel proud and privileged to start the next stage of my career with Inzpire. The Mission Systems team has made me feel very welcome and it’s great to be back in an aviation environment, learning about the many ways that GECO supports our wide range of customers.”
In her spare time, Amy loves exploring and travels as much as she can, both with her doggy sidekick Connie and improving her skills on surf/winter sports trips. She also enjoys playing netball, gardening and eating chocolate.
