It’s our pleasure to welcome Howard Leach (Leachy) who joins us as a tactical air command and control subject matter expert supporting our collective training contracts.
Leachy joined the Royal Air Force in 2003 as a fighter controller. After qualifying at RAF Buchan, he was posted to RAF Boulmer as a weapons controller and while there, he became a phase 2 instructor and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Op HERRICK.
After selection for the E-3D, Leachy graduated from 54 Squadron in 2010. This was the start of a 10-year association with 8 Sqn, where he took part in multiple overseas exercises and operations including Op ELLAMY and Op SHADER. After completing the Qualified Weapons Instructor ISR Course in 2017, he finished his time on 8 Sqn as a fighter allocator and combat ready instructor.
Posted to the Control and Reporting Centre at RAF Scampton, Leachy qualified as a Master Controller and Tactical Director contributing to UK Quick Reaction Alert while supporting multiple exercises both in the UK and overseas. His final tour was in MoD Main Building.
