It is our pleasure to welcome Josh Hind to our Maritime Division.
Josh joins us as a maritime engineering subject matter expert after serving eight years in the Royal Navy in the Marine Engineering branch.
Following his graduation from Queen Mary University of London with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Josh joined Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC) in September 2013. After completing his initial military training at BRNC and Systems Engineering and Management Course at HMS SULTAN, he underwent apprenticeships in HMS ST ALBANS (T23 Frigate) and HMS OCEAN (LPH Helicopter Carrier).
On completion of his seagoing apprenticeships and his final exams, Josh joined HMS DIAMOND (T45 Destroyer) as the deputy marine engineer officer, where he managed the engineering department through maintenance periods, an Operational Sea Training (OST) package and various deployments, including SNMG2 and the work up to Op Kipion. Josh’s time in HMS DIAMOND culminated with achieving his marine charge qualification, qualifying him to head his own engineering department, before moving on to his next appointment.
On leaving HMS DIAMOND, and after a few days leave, Josh flew out to the USA to join HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH (QEC Aircraft Carrier) as the senior watchkeeper. Here, he enjoyed managing a large department, multiple maintenance periods, a ‘first of class’ docking period, an OST package and multiple deployments to the USA (WESTLANT18 & 19).
After leaving HMS QUEEN ELIZABETH, Josh took a role at HMS SULTAN, managing the controls, diagnostics and simulation section, delivering training to phase 2 and 3 trainees as well as training support to front line units.
Josh currently lives in Portsmouth with his fiancée Angel and twin girls. His interests include weightlifting, rugby, property and stock market investing – all to a novice level!
Welcome to the Inzpire family Josh!
