New Joiners
We’re delighted to welcome Neil Cassidy to Inzpire, as a Senior Training Consultant within our Training Services Division.
Neil Joined the Royal Navy (RN) in October 1991 as a Weapons Engineer, with his initial sea draft on HMS NEWCASTLE, which covered West Africa & Falklands deployments. This was shortly followed by transfer into the operations branch, as part of the RN transformation programme. Neil took part in subsequent sea assignments on five T42 Destroyers, which included operations to support humanitarian aid and disaster relief from the Caribbean to the Philippines.
As a fully qualified above water weapons (AWW) instructor, Neil also carried out many instructional roles throughout his coveted career. Selected for the staff of fleet operational standard and training, Neil was the instructor in charge of bringing T45 Destroyers to operational readiness, in addition to foreign naval warships.
In his final sea assignment, Neil served onboard HMS ILLUSTRIOUS, operating from the Red Sea, Horn of Africa & Persian Gulf, before culminating in OP PATWIN to support the Philippines post Typhoon Haiyan. His final assignment was at Naval Command HQ as branch advisor to FLEET Commander, completed in April 2021.
In May 2021, Neil joined Capita, delivering the Selbourne Programme of RN training modernisation – providing him with the opportunity to shape training across the Naval service from the other side of the wire! As the project lead for 3 years, his key achievements included the creation of an accreditation matrix, introduction of continuous professional development (CPD) products to develop trainers & learners, and the training management system compliance model utilised to inform leaders across the entire training domain.
Neil is married to Louise, currently residing in Hampshire with their two daughters. As an avid sports fan, Neil is a Bath rugby supporter, Oxford United football fan and regular attendee at Twickenham or Lords for both the sport and the refreshments! As the former president of the Royal Navy Gunnery Instructors Association, he maintains links with former shipmates and supports their designated charity – usually via the clubhouse bar!
He said: "As a fast growing, future looking organisation, Inzpire has provided me with the ideal opportunity to expand my professional reach - in both familiar environments and exiting future projects with the Training Services Division. I am very excited to get started!"
