We are delighted to welcome Nick Borbone to Inzpire as the head of our maritime division within our collective training and services operational business unit.
Nick formerly served in the Royal Navy where he developed his career as a Principal Warfare Officer and Air Warfare specialist. He was Operations Officer of the Type 23 Frigate HMS RICHMOND for the first phase of OP TELIC which included the provision of Naval Gunfire Support during the Royal Marines’ assault of the Al Faw Peninsula in 2003.
He served in the Destroyer HMS Newcastle before commanding the Mine Hunters HMS Shoreham and HMS Ramsey when he returned to the Gulf as part of the coalition force based in Bahrain. On promotion, Nick commanded the air defence destroyer HMS Edinburgh and deployed to the South Atlantic as part of the standing commitment to the Falkland Islands.
Following staff training in Canada, Nick returned to the UK to take up an appointment as the naval spokesperson in the Directorate of Defence Communications in the MoD London.
Nick left the Navy in 2016 when he took up roles in defence business development initially bringing military experience to a small shipping refit company before moving on to become a bid capture manager for Lockheed Martin UK. Here he led captures for the provision of support to UK submarine capability and Royal Navy training. Most recently prior to joining Inzpire, he undertook a business development role to increase the opportunity portfolio for Aquila Air Traffic Management Services.
Nick lives in Chichester and is married to Joanne, and they have 3 teenage children. His interests include obsessive cycling, hill walking, skiing, golf and sailing.
