We’re very pleased to welcome Paul Bunce to our Technical and Strategic Services Division, as a Mission Data Specialist.
Paul grew up in Berkshire and joined the Royal Air Force in 2002 after completing his A levels; he had always wanted to pursue a career in aircraft engineering from a young age.
After completing his initial aircraft electrical trade training at RAF Cosford, Paul was posted to RAF Marham in 2003. He had many responsibilities - from complex aircraft rewiring, the testing and development of RB199 engines and complex calibration of fast jet ISTAR systems including laser targeting systems, reconnaissance surveillance equipment and EW decoy pods.
During his time in the RAF, Paul completed two tours of Operation Herrick and five tours of Operation Shader, providing specialist deployed support for intelligence gathering. With the draw down of the Tornado in 2019, he was then posted to RAF Coningsby and introduced to the world of mission data.
As a keen motorsport fan, Paul represented the RAF at many events - including the Goodwood festival of speed with the RAF Rally team. He was also a safety car driver for many charity driving events, raising funds for RAF Marham’s station charities.
In his spare time, Paul also joined 29 Sqn for two seasons with the Typhoon Display Team. This involved engaging with the public and giving them a brief insight the world of EW. He then departed the RAF in June 2024 after 22 years’ service to continue his Mission Data and Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) career with us, here at Inzpire.
Paul has now settled in the Lincolnshire area with his wife and two children - who both are working towards a future in engineering.
He said: “I thoroughly enjoy the field of EW and I can’t thank Inzpire enough for giving me the opportunity to continue developing, whilst allowing me to fully utilise everything I have learned during my RAF career. I also feel very content that I can continue to give direct support to the UK MOD and its serving members.”
