We’re delighted to welcome Rick Dawson back to our Helicopter Services Division as a helicopter subject matter expert.
Rick retired from the Army in 2016 following 27 years of service. Initially joining the Infantry, then in the Army Air Corps (AAC), Rick finished his service as an A2 Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI) having achieved 7000 flying hours in the post of senior standards officer and user authenticator on the UK AH46D Apache. He completed six operational tours, including Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and a NATO exchange tour to the USA, again on the Apache.
On leaving the military, Rick first joined us as a Civilian Qualified Helicopter Instructor (CQHI) and continued to instruct on the Apache at 673 (Training) Squadron in Hampshire. He then ventured abroad where he became the training officer on both the Bell 206 and Apache AH64D with the UAE military, working under Horizon International Flight Academy and Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL).
Now back with us, Rick looks forward to contributing to our growth and success by drawing on his experience across military aviation, both on the ground and in the air, to support our customers.
In his spare time, Rick enjoys playing sport with his two sons and playing the piano, adding that he knows all the right notes just not necessarily in the right order!
